Vegetable Update

Its July in the garden and all is well. Pretty much everything is doing well and nothing else has gone to the big garden in the sky.
Ive ignored all guidance on the corn and am still growing 4 of them in the same pot. The peas and mange tout are doing amazingly well, climbing up their little frame and sprouting wonderful pods. Ate some of the peas during the week, think they need a bit longer.
The courgette, Butternut squash and tomato are yet to do anything exciting, except the tomato is now about 4 foot tall.
Everyone in the house is amazed that I have not killed anything yet, and the garden of death has had a metamorphosis into the garden of life.

Flat Cap & Vegetable Planner

I got some awesome presents for xmas to help me on my quest, I’m now the proud owner of a flat cap (thanks to the lovely Emma), flat caps are essential for growing veg.

My friend Lydia got me a Vegetable planner, I never even knew these things existed, but it gives you all the info you need for planting your veg, when to sow the seeds, how deep, when to plant out, when to harvest. I will be uploading all the details for the veg seed packs.

We now have about 30 people signed up for the free seed packs, from all over the world! From the US to Australia! Hoping to send out the first batch of packs in Mid Jan, and looking into the logistics of sending abroad.

Return of the Ugly Veg

Its great to see that the EU has finally dropped many of its stupid rules about mis-shaped veg.

I dont feel so bad about my carrots anymore, I think they were just a little ahead of their time.

Cant wait to start seeing more odd shaped veg in the shops, although I think it may take sometime before the M&S mums start to appreciate the value of something odd shaped and god forbid muddy!
