Thanks for the free seeds. I tried growing most of them, and it gave me the chance to try new things, thanks. Here are some of my results:
Lettuce - pretty good, have been having lettuce in my sandwiches all year! Some ran to seed before I could eat them. Came up very easily.
Swede - rubbish. about 3 spindly little plants grew out of all the seeds, and no roots to speak of. I wonder if my soil is to blame?
Beetroot - a good crop, all about golf ball size. These are storing in the fridge whilst I work out what on earth to do with them. Will try these again.
Onions - I was too late to plant these, will try them this year - boxing day is the traditional day for planting onion seeds, I am told.
