Article submitted by Karen, free seeds will be shipped in next batch. For those who are not lucky enough to have outside space and on a small budget,i have managed to grow cherry tomatos, radish, peas, chillis, plus lots of different herbs. This is my way, not liked by some but cheap and cheerful and successful.
Find a friend who has tons of plant pots and offer to grow their seeds in exchange for use of some pots. Buy some cheap compost buy a pack whatever seeds you fancy growing,if it your first time then herbs my be a good idea first find a sun south facing window (or the most sunny window) and follow the instructions except but as they are growing inside you can start anytime after feb,as long as the windows are double glazed. I grew basil last year and planted up 15 tiny pots to get them going and ended up swapping 12 plants with people for other things mainly veg and fruit.and helped my friend pick her fruit trees which got me enough fruit to last all winter.all part cooked and frozen. and in total cost 89p for basil seeds £3 for compost and 2 hours of chatting with a good friend while picking fruit. This shows that anyone can grow stuff in a flat that leads to cheaper food bills.
