Article from Elizabeth ( free seeds on their way )

I was taught my gardening skills by my grandfather who taught me several 'tricks of the trade' one being, fresh blood from the slaughterhouse to feed tomato plants.

Ok, so today this is not always possible let alone desirable! I have learned however, as an organic gardener to use nature to feed nature and it saves a fortune. In the spring, I gather young nettles in a string bag and pop them into my water butt.

I then gather comfrey leaves, place them in pots water lightly and compress each one with a brick or stone. The resulting juice smells foul but used as a root and foliar feed, every single plant in both garden and greenhouse thrives because of the nutrients. It also acts as an aphid spray. Asparagus loves

seaweed which I gather after a storm, rinse and 'cook' in the oven set at a low temperature then grind into a fine powder. Wonderful stuff!!
