So Ive finally moved house, and now have some real room to start growing some more. Not much flowerbed, but lots of room for little pots, and a few large pots already in place.
So ive not wasted any time and have started planting out some of the pots I had, also have planted some more seeds in the shed at the end of the garden that has a plastic clear roof. Hopefully it will be someway towards a greenhouse.
Below are the current collection that are growing

I bought two cucumber plants, one in somerset, one in wimbledon, and when I arrived at my new house planted them into one of the old troughs with a mix of old and new compost. I placed them around the side of the house out of the wind, but also out of the sun. Two days later they were not looking too good.

After getting the usual jokes from my housemates, “welcome to the garden of death” etc, I decided to move them around to the sunny garden.
Left them out over night and came back the next evening to find they had gone, I later discovered they had been buried by what I can only presume is cats or foxes? They are now officially dead. First casualty of the year. boooo.

Its great to hear so many of you are having early success with the seeds, if you have any photos please feel free to send them in and I’ll add them on the site.
I am also looking for other people to help contribute to the site and pass on a little bit of their experiences to others. If you are interested please drop me an email and I’ll set you up, its really easy and quite fun.

Yep is spring time and thoughts start turning to getting those veg going. I know what your thinking, “should you not have been planting ages ago?” . But a mixture of moving house lack of allotment and general busyness has led to me being slack.
So the local garden centre has come to the rescue and bobs your uncle I have some plants, not from seed but plants non the less.
The plants on the roof garden really suffer from not having enough water, especially on hot sunny days so I built this makeshift giant pot, out of the remains of last years green house (the one that blew away), hopefully this will give them enough water until I move house in a couple of weeks.
When I move I am going to have a garden! oh yes, the time has come at last to show what i can do. I am also still on the merton borough waiting list for allotments, the 3 - 6 month estimate has turned into a year already with not much sign of bearing fruit. So get your vegetables at the ready, its going to be a hot summer, lots of watering required and a bumper crop in the making!

These radishes have the unfortunate position of being in this pot near the edge of the roof, so keep getting flooded. As its up on the roof terrace I dont really have anywhere to tip the water, so they have remained like this (slack I know). Water Radishes?

Much like the pepper plant this one has been out in the cold and snow, do tomatoes plants last more than one year? I\’m also wondering if a new plant will sprout from any seeds that may have dropped?

One of the few things that grow this time of year, these onions were grown from an onion set planted in october. They are looking great from the surface, I wonder how much they have grown under the hood?
